Cross Erected in Memory of Officer Brent Long

At 11:15am, on Friday, October 21, 2011, Living Word Ministries will dedicate a cross in the memory of fallen Terre Haute Police Officer Brent Long.  Mayor Duke Bennett, Chief John Plasse and Dr. Larry Reck will preside over the short ceremony at 1212 Wabash Ave.

The cross, which now hangs over the entrance to Living Word Ministries, faces the Terre Haute Police Department directly across the street.  The 8'x5' cross was constructed and donated by Dennis and Karen Morris of Brazil, Indiana, and was positioned above the church entrance by Bob’s Tree Service at no cost.

A plaque will be located inside the church in honor of Officer Brent Long, who gave his life in the line of duty on the 11th day of July, 2011.  This dedication will coincide with Officer Appreciation Day, presented by the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce.
