Can I continue my court appearance date over the telephone?

You cannot request a continuance of your court case over the telephone.  You must appear before the Terre Haute City Court Judge during normal court hours and ask for a continuance.  You may appear in court on an earlier date except holidays and Thurdays (unless you have a public defender).  If you appear early, you must go to the Terre Haute City Clerk's Office prior to 8:30am to have your case file brought into court.  Failure to appear in court on your assigned court date may result in a bench warrant being issued for your arrest or a suspension of your driving privleges.
