City Legal Department

General Information-
The City Legal Department is responsible for providing legal assistance to the Mayor, members of the Terre Haute City Council, The City of Terre Haute Board of Public Works and Safety, and the appointed department heads. This office reviews contracts; drafts legislation for the City Council; prosecutes ordinance violations; processes claims for property damage; administers employee and worker's compensation benefits; and defends suits filed against the City and its employees.
