CITY OF TERRE HAUTE SEWAGE BILLING CHANGE
The City of Terre Haute will have a sewage billing change.
Earlier this year, Indiana American Water informed the City of
Terre Haute that they had made a strategic corporate decision to exit
the sewage billing services line of business. Their decision was based
on the desire to focus their efforts on the core service of providing
water and wastewater services to the communities they serve. Indiana
American Water is currently working with their all their partner
communities to ensure a smooth transition of the sewer billing
activities.
What does this mean for sewer users in our community? The City of
Terre Haute has hired a new sewer billing agent. Starting in December,
you will begin receiving a sewer bill from the City of Terre Haute. The
new bill will be for your monthly sewer charges only. You will continue
to pay Indiana American Water (or any other water provider) for your
water service but all sewage charges will be moved to the new
bill.
Upon receipt of your new sewer bill, please direct all sewage
billing questions to the Customer Service Center at
1-800-955-6598.
Citizens will still be able to make sewage payments at the same
local locations where they are accepted today. Payment locations
include Mike’s Market, Pages Market, and all Jiffy Mini Marts. In
addition, sewer bills can be paid over the phone using a credit or
debit card by calling 1-800-955-6598. You will also be able to pay via
the internet beginning in January. Please go to the city’s web-site at
terrehaute.in.gov and click
on the “Sewage Billing” button for payment option updates.
