Department: Parks and Recreation                                                                                                          

Reports to: Director of Recreation

Pay Rate:

• $11.00 per hour
• Monday-Friday, 12:00pm-5:45pm schedule; additional hours may vary

Position Responsibilities:

• Manage afternoon camp programming
• Develop organized activities and programs for camp participants that are customized for a broad set of camper needs of all ages, abilities and learning styles
• Lead camp organized activities while promoting engagement
• Supervise and provide on-site support for Camp Recreation Staff
• Maintain safe environments for children and Recreation Staff
• Correspond with guardians of camp participants
• Perform office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Experience working with children
• Professionalism
• Ability to effectively communicate in a positive manner with the public
• Ability to control large groups of people calmly and effectively
• Must be at least 16 years old

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in outdoor recreation, education and/or youth programs
• Valid CPR certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a wide variety of environment, including extreme heat and cold
• Ability to stand for long period of time

Ability  to push, pull, carry, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds
