GIS Analyst

Department:      Engineering                                                      

Reports To:         Assistant Director of Engineering            

FLSA:                     Exempt

Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Required experiences with ESRI Products
  • Configure and develop GIS web mapping applications
  • Maintain and expand existing GIS data and technology
  • Collaborate with IT Department to address hardware/software requirements
  • Collect field data according to project requirements and specifications, supporting data collection for infrastructure inventories and small-scale local project
  • Resolve citizen and customer issues, including handling phone inquires
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate various community planning efforts and neighborhood initiatives
  • Assist sustainability commission and manage meeting coordination

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Must be able to work well with others
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to troubleshoot data discrepancies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and with little direction when needed
  • Willingness to seek out and attend professional training

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor degree in computer science or related technical field

Experience: Experience in working professional setting or related office work

Working Conditions: Office setting, fieldwork

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to perform computer activities for extended periods of time
  • Ability to perform field inspections
