The Terre Haute City Council will appoint three members to the Human Relations Commission.  Each member will serve three (3) years for their term.  

• Appointees must demonstrate a commitment to the purpose for which the Commission is created
• The Commission must be broadly representative of the community in regard to race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and abilities
• Appointees must be a resident of the City of Terre Haute or a property owner within the City of Terre Haute and reside within Vigo County
• No more than four (4) appointees may be of the same political party

IMPORTANT NOTE

For the 2024 application process, the applicant must be able to demostrate one of the following:

In the last two Indiana primaries they have cast their vote, they requested a republican ballot

OR

They have never voted in an Indiana primary and would be considered an independent per Indiana statutes
