Terre Haute City Council application for Boards and Commissions

NOTICE

 

The Terre Haute City Council has the following openings for appointments to various boards or commissions.  Applicants must read the requirements before submitting an application.  Deadline for applications is January 27, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.  In addition, all applicants must appear at the Terre Haute City Council Regular Meeting on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

 

FIRE MERIT COMMISSION City Code, Section 2-171

 

There is one vacancy for this board.  Applicant must meet the following conditions:

  1. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
  2. Be of good moral character
  3. Be a legal resident of the City of Terre Haute for three (3) consecutive years preceding the term
  4. May not be an active member of the Terre Haute Fire Department. 
  5. May not receive renumeration as salary from the City or any other fire department or agency
  6. May not hold another elective or appointive office in either a city, town, township, county or state government
  7. There may not be more than a total of two (2) members on the board who were past members of the police or fire department.  The total of two (2) members include the other individuals appointed by the executive and the Fire Union. 
  8. The term of the appointment is four (4) years.  

 

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY BOARD City Code, Section 2-64

 

There are two vacancies for this board.  Appointment is based on the individual's computer skills, knowledge and experience. Applicant must be a resident of Vigo County.  The appointment is for one year.

 

REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION City Code, Section 2-61

 

There are two vacancies for this commission.  Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and a resident of the City.  The appointment is for one (1) year.

 

TREE ADVISORY BOARD City Code, Section 6-198

 

There is one vacancy for this board.  Appointment is based on the individual's general knowledge of trees and urban forestry and who have demonstrated concern regarding urban forestry.  Applicant must be a resident of the City.
