On today's episode of Monday's with the Mayor, I travel to Scout’s Pizzeria to talk to local business owner Scout Wrin. We discuss the importance of a strong downtown and it's impact on the local economy.
The city planner, engineer, and myself are hard at work designing a downtown that draws both visitors and new residents. We enjoy our partnership with Downtown Terre Haute's Board and enjoy working with all the business owners downtown in design conversations.
We want Hoosiers and Hauteans alike to love our downtown and enjoy all of it's amenities. We have increased our trash pick up in the area and street sweeping. We are working with several groups to continue to schedule downtown festivals and events. There is much work to do across our city not just downtown, but for now enjoy this episode of fun conversation and of course pizza.

They discussed the once in a lifetime solar eclipse event on April 8th, all of the events happening around the city, and the cool exhibits in the museum! Slices with Sakbun
Calling all Hoosiers and Hauteans, Slices with Sakbun debuts on March 28th! Once a quarter, Mayor Brandon will travel to a different local pizza joint to hang out and talk to the community while eating some delicious pizza.
Thank you to Monical's Pizza of Terre Haute at Sycamore Terrace for hosting our first Slices with Sakbun and generously providing a coupon for people attending the event!
This event is open to the public and suitable for all ages.

This week, Mayor Brandon sits down with one of Terre Haute's State Representatives Tonya Pfaff! Tonya is the District 43 Representative. They discussed the impact of State legislature passed in this previous session, advocating for the city of Terre Haute and the community, and opportunities for Terre Haute to grow.
