SAFE STREETS FOR ALL INITIATIVE

April 11, 2025

Help us make our streets safer by taking our survey and reporting issues on our interactive map!

The City of Terre Haute is excited to launch the “Safe Streets Terre Haute” initiative to develop a comprehensive Safety Action Plan aimed at reducing and eliminating serious injuries and fatal crashes on the City’s roadways.

The focus will be directed toward vulnerable road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.

The Safe Streets For All Program is a federally funded program that allows cities and towns to update their infrastructure. Prior to applying for construction funding, we have to go through diligent planning. We remain hopeful that future funding will not be rescinded or cut. The studies and planning we are currently doing will help the city of Terre Haute's future applications for construction funding.

To learn more about "Safe Streets Terre Haute" visit the Vigo County Public Library on Saturday, April 12, 9am-1pm to provide your input and help influence decision-making. The project team will be available an hour before and after the event to discuss opportunities and challenges in making streets safer in Terre Haute.

Please fill out the survey in the link below so we can capture your feedback on the safety of our streets or lack thereof.
