Terre Haute’s Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration
Join the Human Relations Commission, the Vigo County History Center, and the Greater Terre Haute NAACP #3068 for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration and Panel Discussion. Together, we will honor Dr. King's legacy and explore actionable ways to create equity and peace in our community.

- Time: 6:00 PM (Museum open from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
- Location: Vigo County History Center, 929 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, IN
Program Highlights:
- Panel Discussion: Engage with a dynamic group of community leaders as they address key issues such as housing, employment, education, and civil rights. Panelists will share strategies for fostering equity and peace in Terre Haute.
- Reception: Enjoy light refreshments, including cookies, in the auditorium after the panel discussion.
- Free Museum Admission: Explore local history at the Vigo County History Center from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM, free of charge.
Theme: This year’s theme is inspired by Dr. King’s words in his final book, Where Do We Go From Here? Chaos or Community?:
“One day we must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means.”
