Department:  Transit Utility                                   

Reports To:    Assistant Manager                          

FLSA:            Non-Exempt

Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

• Repairs and maintains fleet of city buses.
• Drives city buses as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Ability to work well with others.
• Considerable skills in maintenance mechanics.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and reach.
• Must be proficient in both diesel and gasoline engines.
• Must be Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified or must obtain certification within 12 months of employment start date.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Training: High School Diploma or Equivalent.  Professional certification desirable

Working Conditions: Garage setting.

Special Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license, provide own basic tools.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to see within normal parameters.
• Sufficient physical ability to perform all maintenance tasks. Lifting requirements
• Manual dexterity in hands and legs to use tools, bend, and stretch.
• Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s).
