Position: Recreation Maintenance Dept: Parks & Recreation
Reports to: Director of Recreation Content Revision Date: 12/28/2023
Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Maintain and prepare City Sports Facilities including ball fields, tennis courts,
    soccer fields, and pickle ball courts
  • Assist during all major events hosted by the Recreation Department
  • Lead set-up and tear-down for special events
  • Assist with set-up and tear-down of seasonal City Parks decorations
  • Clean City Parks Recreation Facilities, offices, public restrooms, and rental
    spaces
  • Maintains the grass at City Parks and Facilities
  • Install playground equipment
  • Manage inspection records and reports
  • Assist with City Pool maintenance and cleaning
  • Renovates City Facilities as needed
  • Mechanical duties as needed
  • Unlock and secure facilities as needed
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools and light machinery
  • Ability to operate mowers, weed eater and blowers
  • Pick up trash in parks
  • Prepare and paint facilities
  • Perform all other tasks and maintenance duties as assigned by Assistant Director
    of Recreation and Director of Recreation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Working ability to prioritize assignments and solve problems
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team
  • Ability to read and follow installation instructions
  • Ability to work overtime for special events as required
  • Experience operating lawn care equipment
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
 Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification
 Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) Certification
 CDL License
 Experience: Minimum 2 years maintenance training or experience
 Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Working Conditions: Indoor and outdoor environments including extreme heat and cold
Physical Requirements:
 Ability to work in a wide variety of environment, including extreme heat and cold
 Ability to see within normal parameters
 Ability to hear within normal range
 Ability to extend hand(s) and arms(s)
 Ability to stand for long period of time
 Ability to read
 Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift a minimum of 40 pounds
